Wear White Without The Fear Of Yellowing With These Hacks

Wearing white has some classic status. It can change the atmosphere of the room when you will appear in a white shirt. Perhaps, the white saree or kurta is the most prized possession of anyone’s wardrobe. They may take all the risk not to get stained and retain all the glamour for long; the main struggle is the tendency of yellowing of the white fabric.

The reason for the yellowish patches on a white garment is the excessive wash cycle. We need to wash them more often to keep it clean and as a result; it will turn yellow or gray losing all the shine. The iron content of the water is responsible for it.

Washing Instruction For Cotton and Linen: Take a bucket full of warm water and add the juice of a lemon in the water. Now add a bucket of normal water and add Safed Detergent into the water. You clean the garment like the normal way. If you still have the yellowish shade on the white fabric, then prepare a solution of water and one cup of borax powder and wash it with it. It will surely give the coveted shine and glamour to the texture.

Washing Instruction For Acrylic, Nylon, Silk, and Wool: Read the washing instruction thoroughly before starting the process. If it is allowed, then make a solution of warm water and Safed detergent and soak for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes of hand wash it and repeat the whole process of soaking and washing two more times. Finally, you will get bright white garments after the drying.

Tips To Wash White Clothes To Remove the Yellow Hue:

  1.     There are many people who prefer to wash them after wearing for one time but you can extend it for two or three wear to prevent the texture and color of the clothes but not more than that. While you avoid washing them, the body oil, sweat and preservatives will turn the white cloth to yellow. Don’t let build up the remaining to spoil your favorite piece of fabric.
  2.     Never mixed white clothes to other colors as it may ruin the whole garment due to color bleeding. White clothes are very sensitive and you have to keep in mind this factor. To avoid the risk of staining, you need to keep them separated while washing.
  3.     To maintain the white color, you need to use as much warm water as you can while washing. However, before that don’t forget to check the labels of the clothes as it may ruin the texture.
