Running is a high-intensity workout, where you will be sweating. Given this, it makes sense that your clothes would be sweaty after you have completed rounds. The clothes that you wear would be in close contact with your skin. So, we would advise you to wash your running clothes as soon as you reach home. Dumping the clothes could lead to bacteria growth, resulting in nasty odors. If washing, soon after a rigorous running session, seems too demanding you can at least put them out in the open for air drying.

With the use of Washing Machine

 

You would be happy to know that most brands of running clothes are machine washable. However, to be on the safer side you should check the garment’s care label and follow the special instructions mentioned. As far as machine washing is concerned, you should separate the running clothes in terms of their color. The dark-colored and light-colored clothes should not be mixed together. Once the loads are sorted turn the clothes inside out. This allows the Safed detergent easy access to the dirtiest inner layers and makes cleaning flawless. This practice also protects clothes from premature color fading.

 

Now that you have sorted everything else, it is time to apply one scoop of Safed detergent powder. Select the cold-water settings and then just wait for the washing to be completed. Once done, remove the clothes immediately and let them air dry in the open. 

 

Handwashing Running Clothes

 

Handwashing your running clothes would definitely require some extra work, but it will give the best results too. It is the gentlest of washing methods and augers well for your running clothes. To start the process, fill a small container with lukewarm or cold water and add a scoop of Safed detergent powder. Submerge the clothes in this soapy water for 15-30 minutes. Swish the clothes in soapy water with gentle movements and then drain the container to refill it with clean water. Swirl the clothes until the soap is gone. Lightly squeeze the extra water out and put them on a clean towel for water soaking. Once all the excess water is gone, put them out in the open to dry.
